Wrinkles – They Pester Both the Young and the Elderly! |

Gone are the days when wrinkles used to appear on the faces of the elderly only. Unfortunately, the unhealthy modern lifestyle all over the world has made wrinkles appear prematurely even on young skins. There are several reasons behind this.
Stress
Avoid stress. Besides age, stress caused by various reasons is also often the culprit behind wrinkles. Stress harms your skin in various ways. With an aggressively hostile environment, sometimes it’s literally impossible to maintain a relaxed frame of mind. It damages the skin. Even an otherwise healthy skin gets more prone to wrinkles when people lose tempers almost daily, shout at each other and worst of all, frown at their foes and friends alike.
Negative Facial Expressions
Negative facial expressions are among other culprits behind wrinkles. Learn to smile rather than frown. Frowns wrinkle the skin at a pace much faster than usual. Moreover, they may result into wrinkles of several types depending upon how you use your facial muscles. Besides frown lines, even brow wrinkles and crows feet may also appear leaving a beautiful face with an ugly appearance!
When you frown, you torture your muscles. Same is the case with almost all types of facial expressions that result because of anger, stress, mental tensions, worries, anxiety, etc. it’s interesting to know that happy facial expressions such as a smile only adds up to the charm of your face. Your skin glows. And the mind is relaxed!
Unfortunately, even the best of the anti wrinkle creams available in the market may not be of any substantial use unless and until you learn to relax your mind. Start smiling. Don’t worry unnecessarily. And don’t frown!
Smoking
Quit smoking! Apart from damaging your lungs, smoking also wrinkles the skin badly not only on your face, but also the arms and the torso. A few puffs of the cigarette reduce the blood flow through the capillaries. Skin, like any other organ of the body, needs oxygen and nutrients to stay healthy that’s brought to it by a proper blood circulation.
When you light a cigarette, the reduced blood circulation in your capillaries deprives the skin not only of oxygen carried over by hemoglobin, but also several other vital nutrients. As a result, your skin begins to lose moisture quite rapidly. No wonder, it’s no longer elastic and begins to wrinkle.
And that’s not all. The smoke may irritate the eyes. It may also result in a squint. The smoker is irritated even more resulting in more of the negative facial expressions. The prolonged torturing of the facial muscles around the eyes often leads increased wrinkles and lines around the eyes.
Not only the eyes, even the cheeks and the corners of the mouth also wrinkle over a period of time as the smoker drags the cigarette in and out of the mouth quite repeatedly resulting into more of the torture for facial muscles.
Sunlight
Wear a sun screen lotion whenever you move out in summers. Skin may wrinkle due to exposure to harsh sunlight for prolonged periods of time. It’s not only the facial skin , but any part of the body exposed to skin that may wrinkle. What’s worse, the ultra violet rays in the harsh sunlight break down the collagen resulting into a much thinner outer layer of the skin. The damaged skin often fails to repair itself due to broken collagen. It only makes bad situation worse further leaving the skin badly wrinkled in the process.
